Anxiously awaiting spring...

This past Thursday and Friday I had off school. I was really hoping to play outside with the boys... unfortunately it was too cold (32*), at least it was sunny.

Jayden and I spent a little time walking around outside, Jack stayed out longer playing with his trucks on the driveway. Hopefully it will get warm soon.

Jayden was very interested in all the fun new toys outside, however, since he needed to be in his snowsuit because it was so cold it was kind of hard for him to move around and play. The photos are a little awkward because I had to hold Jayden up with one hand the whole time or he would flop over!

Yogurt!

Jayden had his first yogurt this morning!

It was a Gerber Yogurt Blends cup, banana flavor. He loved it! He also had a Beech Nut baby food jar of yogurt & mixed fruit yesterday and enjoyed it. I love giving Jack yogurt because it is easy and cheap and nutritious (even though I myself cannot stand the smell.....) But I'm glad the boys love it!

Jayden on the move!

This week I put the gate up in the kitchen at the top of the stairs. Jayden usually doesn't stray too far from mom or dad when he's crawling around, but especially when we're in the kitchen making dinner (or something yummy!) I don't want him to decide to crawl off and get hurt!

I showed Jack how to use the door through the bathroom to get around, and so far he thinks that's pretty fun.

Jayden is completely obsessed with the tv/tvstand/cable box/vcr....

Jack crawled around by it at this age too - but Jayden absolutely loves it. He pulls himself up to he can see the tv and starts bouncing around. It's pretty funny, although we try not to encourage it because I don't want him to get hurt if he falls the wrong direction.

Exploring Outside!

On Saturday we went down to Jeff's parents house to help out with a home-improvement project and then spent the afternoon enjoying the spring weather (sunny and 40*).

We thought it was going to be warmer in the afternoon so we didn't bring all our winter gear - so Jayden had to improvise for our outdoor hike.... He was a good sport. (and he stayed warm - I think he has about 5 layers of various types on his top here.....)

Jayden finally fell asleep when we were almost back to the house... I thought he would a lot soon, since he didn't nap too long in the morning. But then we sat out in the sun for about an hour, and Jayden slept the whole time - he was nice and comfy, warm.

We had a very nice day exploring and spending some time outside.

Spring has Sprung!

This past week Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the weather warmed up a bit and we were able to get outside to play in the afternoon! Jack had such a great time :) I can't wait for spring to get here (and stick around) so he can be outside all the time - Jack is so much happier outside.

Jayden also liked being outside in the sunshine and warm breeze, although it is still to wet to let him play on his own, so I just carried him or pushed him in the stroller for now.

Yesterday afternoon Jack found the box of Halloween Costumes in my closet, so I let him try on a few. He had tons of fun! And this morning he wanted to play with them again.

Jayden had a very fun and busy "birthday". And he slept great last night

(which was especially wonderful because we lost an hour with the time change!)

Fun Toys!

Jack recently started playing with my baby dolls again this past week ...they had been forgotten in the closet for the past few months. :( He likes to dress them and put diapers and "big boy potty" pants on them. He also likes to feed them - he "nurses" his babies, but I try not to encourage that.... and he gives them play food in Jayden's chair.

Lately Jayden is no longer content to just sit in his boucer happily while I make dinner in the kitchen... he wants to be moving around!!! So I got the plastic cups out for him, just like I did with Jack. And now he loves to play with them on the kitchen floor while I cook :)

Last weekend we put Jayden on the little bike and horse down in the basement and he absolutely loved them! (Which means Jack now loves them again also!)

Jayden loves to sit on which ever one Jack will let him have. He can scoot himself backwards a little bit, but mostly he just like to play with the fun, noisy toys all over them!

Jayden's first finger foods!

On Sunday afternoon I let Jayden try some peach Gerber puffs. He was a little unsure at first. But now seems to like them in small amounts. I've been giving him 4-5 each night while we are eating dinner. Sometimes I have to push them back in his mouth two or three times, but he eats most of them! He's getting so big.

He likes to hold them.

They get stuck on his lips a lot!

He can go wherever he wants and play with what he wants!
