Second Trip to the Zoo!

Today I had off school so I had planned on taking Jack to the zoo for a little while in the morning since it would be something different to do outside and is free!

Jack woke up with a cold and I could tell he wasn't feeling great, he just sat around all morning (which isn't like him at all) but since it was sunny and not too cold (50* or so when we left) I decided some fresh air would be good.

Jack had a great time! After about the first 10 minutes he didn't want to sit in the stroller anymore, he wanted to push the stroller :) So for the next hour and a half he walked around the whole zoo pushing my umbrella stroller!

We saw a lot of animals. Caribou, elephants, birds, monkeys, flamingos, peacocks (when we got there the peacocks were all over the place with all their feathers open and making loud noises at each other - Jack loved it!)

Before leaving we had an early lunch and then headed home a little before 11am. Jack fell asleep in the car and when I took him out at home he didn't wake up - so I laid him in bed and he's now taking a nice nap.

All the fresh air and exercise will exhaust a little boy with a cold!

Jack shaking hands with the monkey picture. He loved the monkeys!
And he was really into these foot massage seats....... even though I never turned it on for him!
Watching the elephants play with big logs.

What a fun morning we had together :)

Helping in the Garden!

Jack is a very good helper.

And now that we are outside a lot enjoying all this beautiful spring weather, he loves to help outside with whatever we are doing. This past weekend Jack helped daddy plant peas in the garden!

Now whenever he goes over by the garden, he points to that corner and says "Peas!"

Swing Set Construction is Complete!

Jack's swing set was finished on Friday. It was a pretty nice day to be working outside. Grandpa brought Chase up this time and Jack had a GREAT time playing with his cousin. They played with hammers, nails, and trains - what more could a boy want to be happy!!!

Jack absolutely LOVES his swing set. He'll have so much fun playing on it for years to come :)

All the boys working up top!

Chase and Jack hammering away!

Jack can talk!

The last two months or so Jack has picked up A LOT more words! Which is really great since we can understand him much better now :)

Another update - his new big boy bed has been a hit so far. He goes down to sleep good in it for naps and at night, and has stayed in it! And he loves his pillow.

Swing Set Construction - Day 1

On Monday Grandpa Gene came up to help Jeff on Jack's swing set!

It was a beautiful day for being outside. They got quite a lot accomplished :)

Jack had a great time watching and "helping". It rained today, so the work had been put off for a day or two, but I know Jack can't wait until it's all done!!! He'll love it.

Sitting on his wood pile.

Helping Grandpa find some nails in the grass.

Checking out the top deck!

Helping daddy transplant a tree that was in the way of construction.

Easter - Part 3

On Sunday afternoon we went over to Uncle Chris' house for Easter with B's. We had a nice brunch and visit. Jack got a cute Elmo Easter basket from Grandma & Grandpa, which he loves! (he sleeps with it) And he had fun playing with Carolann and giving baby Marlo kisses!

Jack was so wiped out afterwards that he slept for two hours on the drive home (and after we were home)
It was a beautiful weekend, very summer-like! Jack LOVED it :) We all had a great Easter.

Easter - Part 2

On Friday morning we decorated Easter eggs for the first time with Jack. And I can't say he was too taken with the idea..... however, he got a few crayon scribbles on some eggs, and none of the dye got spilled, and no clothes were ruined, so I'd say it was a success overall. Jack sure has enjoyed eating the eggs for breakfast the past few days (at least most of the time) !

On Sunday morning we had another little Easter Egg hunt for Jack in the backyard. And after his first one on Saturday, he knew what was going on this time! He did great finding all the eggs and loved opening them up to find all his candy :)
Jack got quite an Easter Basket from the Easter Bunny. He must be a VERY good boy!

Easter - Part 1

On Saturday we went down to Racine for our first Easter celebration. Jack had a wonderful time playing with his cousins! And even though it was rainy for the morning, it got nice in the afternoon and we had plenty of outside play time. And Jack had a great time in his first Easter Egg Hunt :)

Jack got these cute bunny ears from grandma & grandpa!
