Exciting News!

I just got an email from Channel 4 saying that the boys were choosen to be on the news for Weather Kids.

I emailed pictures a long time ago - maybe March???? I just need to send back a release form and then I'll get the date when they will be on :)

Exciting!

Jayden's new big expense :(

On Wednesday morning Jayden ran out of free formula samples :( :( :(

-----

We'd been using free ones I had gotten in the mail as samples and some from the doctor's office since the beginning of June. But finally the sad day came when I had to go to the store to buy formula.

-----

Hopefully we don't need to buy too many more of the overpriced cans of powder. I also bought Jayden some more baby food and he's been eating pretty good the past 24 hours - 1 1/2 jars of fruit and 3 yogurt cups - believe it or not, that's good eating for this kid..... (we haven't bought him food in a while because he wasn't eating any of it, so my last stock-up trip to wal-mart lasted a while!)

-----

Hopefully at his next weigh-in at the end of August we will get the OK to switch to whole milk - because formula is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE! (and I thought diapers were over-priced....which is why I use cloth whenever possible.)

my 1st purchse, ugh.

Beautiful day in the water!

On Tuesday we went down to the pond. The boys were in the water before I could even get my suit on! And they stayed in ALL DAY LONG. Jayden loved playing in the shallow water and splashing around. And Jack was doing great working on his swimming without his bubble suit. After a while he put his bubble suit on and had some fun on the tubes and board with Daddy and Chase & Jillian. Jayden took a nice long nap after lunch so I was able to enjoy the water with Jack a bit more. Jack was in the water from about 9:30 until 2:00, when he started "melting down" because he was very tired. But overall it was a great day.

B'Haven Lodge!

We arrived at the B'Haven lodge around 3pm on Friday afternoon. It was very warm and sunny - so Jack got right into the water with Grandpa.

For dinner on Friday we had burgers on the grill and corn roasted on the campfire!

It was all delicious :) Jack loved his first corn-on-the-cob of the season.

After dinner we got ready to take the boat out to the sandbar to do some swimming. But Jayden couldn't wait that long - he need to be cooled off before we left the dock. He LOVED having his toes in the water.

Jack had his gecko raft from Auntie Katie all set for the sandbar. Jack almost fell asleep on the boat ride out - it had been a busy day and he didn't take a nap - but as soon as he got into the water he woke right up and starting having lots of fun.

The sandbar :) lots and lots of fun. The boys both loved it. And the water was nice and warm!

On Saturday it was cloudy and we had some rain in the afternoon, but before the rain his daddy and Jack tried out some tubing! They both had lots of fun on Grandma & Grandpa's new tube.

On Saturday afternoon Grandpa put the boys to work picking up rocks from the dirt where the new bathroom construction had taken place. Jack earned himself $1 for all the rocks he picked up. Jayden had fun helping too :)

Saturday after dinner we went to the sandbar again. It was cloudy and a little cooler out, but the water was still warm so we all had fun.

Enjoying a campfire and s'mores!

We had a very fun, busy weekend up north!

Green Bay afternoon!

After we finished picking cherries we headed to Green Bay. We enjoyed lunch at Noodles (daddy had a coupon for a free meal for his birthday!) and then we made out annual stop at Lambeau Field to check out what was new at the Packer Pro Shop.

The store was a little busy, we were there later in the day than we usually are, so we didn't stay too long. Just long enough to buy Daddy a new hat :) -----
Then we went to Bay Beach Park - it's right on the water in Green Bay. We took the boys on three rides, they enjoyed them all! It was very crowded and very hot, or else we would have stayed a little longer - and Jayden hadn't napped yet all day....

Jack waiting in line for his first amusement park ride.

on the helicoptor ride... Jayden and I rode it too.

On the Carousel.

and our final ride was the train.

-----

Before leaving the park we got a quick ice cream to share and then we were back in the car for an hour or so for naptime - at least for Jayden!

Cherry Picking!

Last week Friday we started our Up North Weekend with some cherry picking in Sturgeon Bay. We tried out a new place to pick - it was farther south (less driving!). It was a smaller, family farm but still very nice. Since all we wanted to do was pick some buckets full and then turn around and head back south, we didn't need all the extra stuff.

The boys had lots of fun running around and helping to pick cherries. They were both very happy to be out of the car after the three hour drive!

We filled three buckets of cherries! (That's about 32 cups of pitted cherries)

We'll be enjoying them all year long - after I use the three bags leftover from last summer!

Heat Dome!

I didn't take a lot of pictures this week :( I guess it was too hot or something... but I took a few today of the boys playing outside in the pool and yard on another hot day!

Daddy's Birthday!

For Daddy's birthday Jack and I made cherry pancakes for breakfast (and someone says I never made breakfast.....) they were delicious :) Then we headed down to the pond. It was a HOT HOT HOT day. Jayden napped all afternoon (3 hours) which was really nice, then Jeff, Jack and I were able to swim and enjoy the heat - Jadyen wouldn't have enjoyed it at all :( Jack and I had lots of fun swimming together - he even went naked for a while, and LOVED it!

Daddy's birthday cake was chocolate with almond and cherries & cream cheese frosting - it was DELICIOUS and all eaten very quickly!

Car Washing!

Jack will do anything if it involves the garden hose! So on Monday when Daddy was washing the car after lunch the boys jumped right in to help :) Jayden did great too.

Chef Jack!

Lately Jack has been into preparing pretend meals for us all while I am making dinner. When I took this pictures on Wednesday he had made pizza, salad and beverages! He was very proud of his place-settings :) Unfortunately, he gets really annoyed when I have to move all his stuff to make room for the real meal.

Zoo trip!

This morning we took the boys to the zoo again. It was a beautiful day. We walked around for about 2 hours - rode the train and fed the goats. We saw a lion, the elephants, giraffes, a hippo and many other cool animals. Both boys were very well behaved and had a great time!

Jayden's b-day - Part 3

On Thursday we had Grandma & Grandpa B, Uncle Hayden, and Auntie Katie over for dinner, gufts & cake! It was a beautiful evening so we were able to eat and play outside :)

Jayden (with the help of Jack) had fun opening all his wonderful presents.

We all enjoyed a nice dinner outside - I made Italian sausages since both boys like them!

Then it was time for the second DQ ice cream cake!!!! We sang Happy Birthday and helped Jayden blow out his candle. He ate another piece almost all by himself! And then it was time for bed.

-----

We had a very nice "week" celebrating with everyone, even if we couldn't ALL be together at the same time.
