December Catch-Up

It's been a busy december... with christmas shopping, christmas baking, etc, etc.... We can't believe Christmas is only 4 days away!!! Jack is sure excited (I can sense it...) at least, we know he will be when he sees what Santa brough him christmas morning.

Here are a few highlights from the last two weeks or so.

This afternoon while mom and grandma were baking pizzelles Jack played outside with Grandpa. They tried out the big snow tube... Jack was OK - but didn't love it like he loves his little red sled at home. But he sure had fun being out in the snow for a little while :)

Last weekend we were over by B's for the Packers game and Grandpa Steve's birthday party. Jack had fun playing with the train set with Grandpa. He loved to send the train cars up the hill so they came flying back down!

Last weekend Jack helped daddy shovel the driveway. He loves to be out in the snow - and is such a good helper!

Jack enjoying a kiss cookie! He loved it (especially the kiss part!)

First Big Snow!

It finally snowed! And we had our first snow day :) (at least daddy and Jack did, mommy had a sick day... but I really wasn't feeling well!)

Jack took his very first walk in the snow a few days ago in the backyard with his new boots on. He loved it.

And after the "big snow" of Dec 8-9. 8 inches maybe, I'm not sure. Anyway, Jack and daddy had a lot of fun playing outside that afternoon even though it was pretty windy and getting colder. They built a snowman and Jack got his first sled ride!

Checking out the back yard after our first snow fall.

All set to go play outside!

Working on his snowman.

St Nick!

Last weekend St. Nick came to visit Jack while he was sleeping! He must have been a very good boy because he got a stocking full of yummy and fun treats and toys :)

After the fun of opening candy, Jack had fun with grandma and grandpa S along with some waffles and power tools. And then we headed over by grandma B to make christmas cookies (no pics unfortunately, but he was quite a cutie).

Thanksgiving Break!

Jack had a wonderful Thanksgiving break home with mom and dad. Mom was home all week, dad had school all day monday and part of Tuesday. On monday, Jack and I did some Turkey-day crafts and then a few errands. Tuesday we just hung out at home all day. The nights are long without daddy at home :(

Wednesday we were home to enjoy the day before Thanksgiving. We decided to get our Christmas tree since we would be busy the rest of the long weekend. We got a steal of a deal on a Frasier at Menards :) It is beautiful. The bottom half of is a little sparse of ornaments, only a few nonbreakable ones remain - because Jack absolutely LOVES the christmas tree! He's broke a few... but hopefully we have all the glass ones up high enough or removed by now... that boy is really tall !!!

We also spent lots of time baking is past week. Jack helped me make apple pie, pecan pie, cranberry cake and yesterday we made A LOT of christmas cookie dough to put in the freezer for the coming weeks. (It's so much easier to do the dough first and then the cookies closer to when they are needed!) Jack loves to help mom bake :) My sweet helper.

Today was back to school and daycare. Jack did surprisingly well at Miss Cathies - I was afraid he'd freak out when I dropped him off and cling to me. But he just walked right in the door and started playing with his favorite toys. He had an excellent day back with all his friends. My little boy is growing up :(

I'll add pictures from the holiday soon.

On to Christmas... ho ho ho...

Jack helping with out Thanksgiving crafts... he liked the glue and the scissors... :(

Christmas Pictures - Part 2

A little over a week ago on a nice Saturday afternoon we took Jack's Christmas picture out in the backyard. He was pretty cooperative - for an 18 month old :) We got a cute one with his puppies. Jack loves to look at it on the side of the fridge, because he LOVES his puppies !!!

We hope everyone enjoys it.

Christmas Pictures - Part 1

This past Sunday we got together with the B's at Oakwood to take our family Christmas picture. It was a little cold, and cloudy. But at least it wasn't windy, and it didn't take too long :) With a toddler and two dogs this was the best one, I think....

It looks like a winner to me!

After we finished Jack had a great few minutes holding Hershey's leash. Hershey is such a good dog for Jack!
Here they are watching Uncle Hayden climb the fence... it was very intriguing to boy and dog alike :)

Soon it will be time for our Christmas picture of Jack... stay tuned...

18 months!

Jack is 18 months old today!

We had his check up at the doctor this afternoon and it went great! Jack weighs 26pounds 3ounces (50 percentile) and is 34 inches tall (that's the 91 percentile!!) He's a tall one. And he grew A LOT since his last check up at 15 months.

He's babbling and climbing like crazy and he's REALLY into dogs!!!

Last week we gave Jack a Christmas gift early (really early) but he was getting kind of restless in the evenings and needed something..... so we got him a play tent with a tunnel. It is awesome :) And he loves it. It was bought as a basement toy but so far it's in the living room. He sure loves taking all his treasures, and dogs, inside it to play!

That's it for now :)

Trick Or Treat!

Jack had a great time Trick or Treating last night!

We started off by going over to grandma and grandpa B's to show off Jack's puppy costume and grab some treats.

Then we went back home and went up and down our street. There weren't too many houses participating this year, but that was ok because it was a little chilly and Jack had a cold so we didn't stay out too long. Jack got some M&M's, Smarties, animal crackers, cookies, and crackers! He loves to eat them all (luckily he hasn't finished them yet!)

After we came in Jack kept his costume on until bed time and helped daddy hand out candy at our dorr. Everytime someone came to the door Jack ran away with a huge grin on his face :)

New Window!

Yesterday Jeff's dad and uncle installed our new living room windows. They look great!!! It makes such a difference in the look of the house - inside and out :) We still need to finish staining and hang blinds, but the living room should be all finished up soon!

During the window installation Jack and I played outside in the continually-growing pile of leaves in our backyard. He seemed to enjoy it a lot more now than he did last weekend. I guess he's gotten used to them :)

Sick Day!

On tuesday night around dinner time Jack wasn't eating well (not eating anything actually) and when I picked him up he felt quite warm. He had a slight temperature. I gave him some tylenol, but then I had to go to class. He and daddy did a few quick errands that night and then just had a quiet evening with an early bathtime.

Jack woke up in the middle of a night for a bit and still had a temp in the morning so he stayed home from Miss Cathie's with mom. We had a low key day. Jack slept for most of the morning (3 1/2 hours !!!) and then played pretty well all afternoon.

The next day he was looking much better, his temp was down, although he still isn't eating very well and is quite crabby at times!! (But that could be Jack healthy too... so I think he's pretty much better...)

Hair Cut!

On Tuesday morning I finally gave Jack a haircut! I had trimmed it a few weeks ago, and a few weeks before that - but it was getting a little out of control. It was all bushy in the back and front was getting in his eyes, so I fixed it!

It actually went quite well. I did it in the morning while Jack was watching tv - Martha Speaks and Sesame Street. He just sat on his little stool for about 20 minutes while I cut away. And I think it ended up looking quite good! We needed to do a minor touch up trim that evening to level out above each ear but over all I'd call it a success :)
And doesn't he look so handsome !!!

Busy Saturday!

Friday night we brought burgers home for dinner and Jack took mine right out of my hand! He loved it :)

Saturday we were very busy! Jeff's dad and brother were over helping add some storage space to our garage "attic" (we need somewhere to keep all Jack's outside toys over the winter) and also installing our new microwave!!!
Here's Jack checking out what's going on up there with all the pounding! He wanted to help too.

I made a big pile of leaves for Jack to jump in - but he wasn't too into the whole "jumping into leaves" thing.....

driving his car into the pile...

"mom get me out, I can't find my legs!!!"

Maybe next yeat he'll enjoy it more.

To finish the busy day Jack went over to Grandma and Grandpa B's for dinner - mom and dad needed to out for a nice quiet meal after all the hard work of the day!

Family Pictures

Yesterday afternoon we went down to Jeff's parents house to take family pictures. We got lots of good ones. Jack was as well-behaved as could be expected - we got a few smiles and then he was off and running!

Jack had a wonderful day playing with everyone :)

Here are a few...
