Cheerios!

Jayden has absolutely loves his Cheerios lately!

I love to watch him eat them. He gets one or two in his little fists and shoves them in his mouth. Most end up on the floor once or twice, but eventually he gets them all in his mouth :)

Jack's Haircut!

On Tuesday evening after I gave the boys their baths, I was trying to comb Jack's hair - to make some sort of sense out of the thick mass of hair on his head and I just couldn't do it!

So I asked Jeff to get the clippers out.

Daddy was a little apprehensive at first - he didn't want it to be too short - but after it was all done, we agreed that Jack looked fantastic - and like such a big boy :)

All set for warm weather (if we ever get any......)

I didn't get any pictures of the major cut because I was helping hold Jack still - although he sat very well on his own for the most part. And I had to keep Jayden safe and entertained (that kid LOVES the bathroom.....) Jack showing off the finished result!

Jack also got to wear a new pair of pajamas that night, since the first pair I put on him

(after the bath, but before the hair cut) were covered in hair!!!!

Boys Playing!

Jack still loves play-doh. When I had off school a few days last week we had it out a lot. Jayden found the phone and loves to push in around in the basement.

Big (Baby) Bed!

Since Jayden usually only sleeps in his crib at night, and he's always sleeping when I put him down I hadn't realized that the crib mattress needed to be lowered until last Thursday, when I tried to put a very awake and crying baby down for a morning nap!

(He ended up in the pack&play downstairs because otherwise I was afraid he was going to crawl over the top and fall!!!).

The next morning Jack helped me lower the crib mattress to its lowest position...

Jayden is such a big boy, and Jack is such a nice helper!

Bottle... finally, he drank one!

On Friday evening after days of trying, Jayden finally drank a whole bottle (3 1/2 ounces) before dinner. Unfortunately he hasn't drank another one since... :(

Anxiously awaiting spring...

This past Thursday and Friday I had off school. I was really hoping to play outside with the boys... unfortunately it was too cold (32*), at least it was sunny.

Jayden and I spent a little time walking around outside, Jack stayed out longer playing with his trucks on the driveway. Hopefully it will get warm soon.

Jayden was very interested in all the fun new toys outside, however, since he needed to be in his snowsuit because it was so cold it was kind of hard for him to move around and play. The photos are a little awkward because I had to hold Jayden up with one hand the whole time or he would flop over!

Yogurt!

Jayden had his first yogurt this morning!

It was a Gerber Yogurt Blends cup, banana flavor. He loved it! He also had a Beech Nut baby food jar of yogurt & mixed fruit yesterday and enjoyed it. I love giving Jack yogurt because it is easy and cheap and nutritious (even though I myself cannot stand the smell.....) But I'm glad the boys love it!

Jayden on the move!

This week I put the gate up in the kitchen at the top of the stairs. Jayden usually doesn't stray too far from mom or dad when he's crawling around, but especially when we're in the kitchen making dinner (or something yummy!) I don't want him to decide to crawl off and get hurt!

I showed Jack how to use the door through the bathroom to get around, and so far he thinks that's pretty fun.

Jayden is completely obsessed with the tv/tvstand/cable box/vcr....

Jack crawled around by it at this age too - but Jayden absolutely loves it. He pulls himself up to he can see the tv and starts bouncing around. It's pretty funny, although we try not to encourage it because I don't want him to get hurt if he falls the wrong direction.

Exploring Outside!

On Saturday we went down to Jeff's parents house to help out with a home-improvement project and then spent the afternoon enjoying the spring weather (sunny and 40*).

We thought it was going to be warmer in the afternoon so we didn't bring all our winter gear - so Jayden had to improvise for our outdoor hike.... He was a good sport. (and he stayed warm - I think he has about 5 layers of various types on his top here.....)

Jayden finally fell asleep when we were almost back to the house... I thought he would a lot soon, since he didn't nap too long in the morning. But then we sat out in the sun for about an hour, and Jayden slept the whole time - he was nice and comfy, warm.

We had a very nice day exploring and spending some time outside.

Spring has Sprung!

This past week Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the weather warmed up a bit and we were able to get outside to play in the afternoon! Jack had such a great time :) I can't wait for spring to get here (and stick around) so he can be outside all the time - Jack is so much happier outside.

Jayden also liked being outside in the sunshine and warm breeze, although it is still to wet to let him play on his own, so I just carried him or pushed him in the stroller for now.

Yesterday afternoon Jack found the box of Halloween Costumes in my closet, so I let him try on a few. He had tons of fun! And this morning he wanted to play with them again.

I think he means "purse"..... :)
