My Peanut!

Lately Jayden has been doing pretty well with his eating. He's back to having a bowl of Oatmeal for breakfast - which he loves! Hopefully this continues. He usually eats all his peanut butter & crackers for lunch... Dinner is hit or miss. He did eat a meatball and some noodles last night, and he was loving my honey sesame chicken leftovers a few nights ago :) It also took a few days, but he finally ate one of these Gerber Fruit Pouches I bought. The first few times he took one sip and then pushed it away.... but after two days he finally finished one of them (so that's like 2 servings of fruit....) it's start at least. I just don't understand why that kid won't eat fruit!?!?

Success!

As it has been exactly 1 month since Jack's last #2 "accident" in his pants, I am officially declaring him POTTY TRAINED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack has done SOOOO well lately using the bathroom all by himself. Sometimes he'll still want me to go in with him, usually when he goes right when he wakes up in the morning, but for the most part he is self-sufficient :)

And I must say, the afternoons are so much nicer without having to clean up his dirty pants every day......
GO JACK!

Zoo!

This morning we decided to take a short trip to the zoo before lunch since it was going to be a gorgeous day and I didn't want to just chase the boys around the backyard ALL day long!

We had lots of fun for a little until 2 hours. Lots of animals were out. Jayden loved seeing them all (he didn't really care too much last year).

It's SUMMER!!!

The past week has been absolutely GORGEOUS!!! They boys have had hours and hours and hours of fun outside :) And I actually haven't taken too many pictures... but we've had fun riding bikes, taking walks, playing in the sand box, at the park, on the swing set...... and it's only March!

Spring Saturday at the Pond!

Yesterday it was a beautiful, sunny, "warm" spring day - although it was VERY windy. Jayden didn't like that much so we stayed in sheltered areas most of the time. But Jack had a blast running around the fields.

Jack helped Grandpa bury a dead skunk he found that morning.... fun!
Jayden and I sat and played in the sun by the water where there was lots less wind. We took a little nap here together too :)
Heading out into the wind to hang up some birdhouses! He looks determined in his new Cars rain boots :)

My sweet baby and I cuddling in the sunshine :)

Sensory Bin #2

This afternoon after some nice long naps I took my two sick boys to the Dollar Tree store down the road and we spent a few more bucks on our "Easter/Spring" sensory bin. The boys love it!

This box contains:
styrofoam craft balls
craft pom-poms
small plastic easter eggs that open
small colorful lizards
measuring cups & spoons
a shovel & rake
magnifying glass & plastic tweezers
straws

Jayden liked filling the muffin tin.
Jack using a straw to blow pom-poms and small plastic eggs around.

Jack picked out this magnifying glass - he LOVES it!

Sensory Bin #1!

This week at school someone told me about this "sensory bin" idea and a cool website for ideas. And I was very excited to try it!

A sensory bin is a bin full of stuff having to do with a certain theme - holiday, gardening, trucks, letters, numbers, colors, etc. And the idea is to keep everything in and around the box (not spread all over the house) to encourage learning and imaginative play.

I took the boys to the dollar store this afternoon to see what we could find for cheap... they didn't have quite the selection that I had hoped to fill my box ideas... but we got a good start I think.

I call my first box "Cups & Diggers". There are a few little trucks/ digger type things, and a set of measuring cup & spoons. A few squishy balls, craft pom-poms, rocks, and some large un-cooked noodles.

The boys played with the box while I was making dinner tonight. They had fun filling the cup and dumping them out. Jack laced some noodles on a straw.... they used their imaginations!!!

I'm hoping to pull this out in the afternoons with Jack a few times a week while Jayden is napping.

My next box will be alphabet themed..... :)

Beautiful day!

On Tuesday it got up to 60* :) Jack and I spent the afternoon out in the backyard having lots of fun watching the snow melt! It was warm on Wednesday too, but very windy & cloudy. But we've still been lucky to have lots of outdoor play-time this week.

Jack's "sick" day!

Last night Jack came down with pink eye so I wanted to keep him out of daycare for a day - but not take the day off school - so luckily Grandpa was around to supervise Jack for the morning! Jack said he had lots of fun... hopefully he didn't keep Grandpa from getting too much work done :) And luckily Jack's eyes look much better this afternoon - overnight was pretty yucky.
