Jack & Mom's Mini Adventure!

Yesterday Jack and I ventured out to Bayshore Mall to pick up my Nook. (I had it on hold there after two closer stores were out of them)
This may not seem like much of an adventure - but we usually stay pretty close to home. The North Shore area is "out there" for us!
Our trip went really well. We were gone about an hour. To make it even more exciting, I thought the mall was off of Good Hope rather than Silver Spring, so when I got to Port Washington Rd. and found I was at Cardinal Stritch instead of the mall - that was a little surprising for a second. But I soon found my way south a bit. And this actually worked to my advantage because by entering the mall from the north end we were closer to Barnes & Noble!
Another exciting part - parallel parking on the street and using a parking meter! WOW!
We were only in the store for a few minutes and as Jack was a little hard to keep right next to me and Jayden was home sleeping we didn't stay to explore much else, which is too bad.
I like Bayshore! I wish it were closer.
On the way home Jack fell asleep
(which was strange - it wasn't that long of a drive and it was 10am!)

Christmas Day!

We headed over the G&G B's around 9am Christmas morning to do gifts and brunch with everyone!
Jack and Grandpa checking out all those gifts under the tree while waiting for Auntie Katie to arrive so we could start opening!
Jack was very patient.
His first gift... a John Deere tracor hay ride toy! He loves it :)

And his very own set of kitchen utensils - I knew that would be a hit, he loves it!
I asked if I could borrow his measuring cups sometime.... he looked a little unsure about that...

Toy Story 3 (and 1 & 2 as well) !!!

Jack and Uncle Hayden, who gave Jack a Cars story book.
Jayden slept through our gift opening and brunch! B
ut then had some play time with everyone.

Jayden modeling Uncle Hayden's funny hat.
-----
Later in the day we went over to Uncle Chris' house for Christmas with the Bruskiewicz family.
Jack playing with Marlo.
-----
We ended up leaving in the middle of dinner because Jack was a bit out of control.
It had been a long, busy two days and he was worn out.
After some nice naps in the car on the way home, and for another hour or so at home, both boys were much happier for the remainder of the evening. We watched Toy Story 3 (cute!) and played with some new toys before heading to bed.
-----
We all had a wonderful Christmas, thanks everyone!

Christmas Morning!

SANTA CAME!!!
And he ate the cookie Jack left out for him :)

The boys right before gift opening began!

Two big gifts from Santa.....

Sleeping bags !!!!!
Those will be fun for years to come!
A John Deere Tractor shirt!
Jayden was just hanging out watching all the commotion....

Looks like it was good Christmas morning by that messy room.

Jack and Daddy's first Lincoln Log house!
(The first of many, I'm sure)
-----
I guess Jack was a good boy all year, after all!

Christmas Eve!

On Christmas Eve we spent the day down at Jeff's parents house. We got there around 10am - so it was a full day :)

Jayden didn't feel like taking a nap after we arrived, so he ended up outside watching everyone play on the ice before lunch! He was nice and cozy warm all bundled in his snowsuit with Grandma.

We had ice skates, the sled and go-cart out on the frozen pond! Jack had a blast.

After lunch Grandma, Auntie Megan and I played a game of cards while the boys were still outside playing in the snow. Jayden still refused to fall asleep, so he played with us.

After everyone came in it was time to crash in front of a nice quiet movie for a while.
Both boys finally took naps :)

Dinner time! Jayden's first time in the high chair.

Yummy!

And then it was present time! We all received wonderful gifts :) Thanks everyone.

Jayden was very good during gift opening time.
He sat on my lap or played on the floor the entire time.

Jack loves opening presents.
Buzz jammies!!!!!

Jack's favorite gift of the evening - a toy garbage truck and street sweeper.
He absolutely LOVES them!
-----
After a fun-filled day we were home by 8pm, and soon after both boys were sound asleep in their beds :)

Jayden's 1st tooth !!!

This morning when Jayden woke up from his nap I discovered a bottom tooth popping through !!!
Which explains why he's been chewing everything lately.
Hopefully he doesn't start biting me now....

Jayden scooting!

This past week Jayden has started moving himself backward on the wood floor a lot more. Given enough time, and no Jack interruptions, he can make it across the room!
See how he starts mostly on the rug....
Then a little less of him is on the rug....

He's almost all off the rug!

He made it to the wood floor!

Once on the wood he can slide pretty fast!!!
He's headed to the kitchen now.

Jayden and the banana!

The other day while eating a banana and holding Jayden, he was eyeing it with such desire I let him have a lick. He seemed a little baffled by the experience at first but then wanted to try again for another lick.

Today while eating another banana, Jayden was sitting in his exersaucer and started waving his arms at me and licking his lips and getting really excited, so I let him "share" with me - meaning he had a few licks and sucks, he tried a small chunk but that just didn't feel right so he spit it out!

Soon Jayden will be starting Oatmeal with Banana cereal - I think he's going to like it !

Jack's naps...

Lately getting Jack to fall asleep at naptime has been a challenge. And when he does finally fall asleep, sometimes it's in unusual or seemingly uncomfortable positions - such as half under the bed, with his head against chair legs, or butt-up next to the wall.....

Blankie is fixed!

Last night while Jack was playing play-doh with Daddy,
I got his blankie away from him so I could fix that hole!!!

And now it is all fixed up and ready for more love :)

boys playing inside!

Jack, in a rare instance of sharing and playing nice, reading a book to Jayden.
Jayden's all smiley while watching Jack play!

Jack and Daddy got all mom's cookie cutters (all 101!) out to use with the play-doh :)
Fun Times!

Jayden giving me kisses :)

Jayden has been eyeing my water bottle lately (Jack did the same thing at this age) so I let him have it this afternoon. He played with that bottle for almost 30 minutes. Just holding it and sucking on it..... it's like the greatest toy ever!
