Jack's First Movie!

This afternoon Daddy was brave and took Jack to see Cars 2 at the movie theater!

Jack was very good. He started by eating his entire box of Junior Mints during the previews :) He sat really well for the first hour or so and after that just moved around in his seat a bit. They had to walk out to the lobby once but then Jack said he wanted to go back in to watch the ending. All and all I'd say he did great!

And Jack stayed dry in his pull-up the whole time they were gone !!! :) He's done really well the past two days in his big-boy undies.

I am just too cute!

Pool Time!

On Sunday it FINALLY got warm & sunny enough outside to fill up the boys' pool again. They had a blast playing in the water after lunch :)

Potty Time....

Over the last week Jack has done pretty well with potty training. However, I find that if I am not with him he tends to pee in his pull-up/pants more often (no matter how many times Daddy asks him to try and go). So we are working on that. Jack has also woke up the past few mornings with very wet diapers :( And we are still working on #2 - yesterday he did a little bit.... Last night, rather than give him a new pull up at dinner time after an accident, I put big boy undies on him (Buzz & Woody ones!). He did well in them for the evening and is wearing another pair this morning - we'll see how it goes. He hasn't peed all over the floor yet.....

2 Percent!

Jayden had another weigh-in at the doctor's office this morning.

He weighed 17lbs 10oz !!!!! Which puts him in the 2%ile :)

The nurse went to tell Dr. D and he seemed happy with that so we just had a "nurse" visit and didn't need to wait for Dr. D to come in too (like last time when Jayden's percentage fell).

And I left the office with 6 cans of formula - SCORE!!!

That will last Jayden 12 days at the rate he's currently eating, which is 20-25 ounces of formula a day. I hope to keep my current track record of not yet having to purchase baby formula - I manage to get all my cans for free!

A look back....

June 2008

Jack's 1st strawberry picking experience.

Strawberry Picking!

This morning we went strawberry picking! Luckily we finished before the rain moved into the area (it rained the whole drive home).

We picked about 15 pounds of deliciously sweet strawberries! They are yummy :)

I already made a strawberry cake. And there are about 30 cups cut up and packed in the freezer already. The rest we will eat and bake with throughout the week.

Jack was a pretty good helper this year. He did some good picking, and didn't run around or step on too many berries.

Jayden was interested in what was happening, he watched for a while then I took him to the car for his bottle since it was getting close to nap time and he was starting to fuss a bit.

YUM!
Can't wait to enjoy them all year long :)

Boys having fun!

Jayden loves to swing, and Jack loves to push him :)

Jayden likes to climb in, on and all around anything he can find.

Jack is getting really good at pedaling and steering his bikes. He loves to go for rides up and down the road!

Jayden loves the sandbox!

Happy Father's Day!

It's been a whole week!

We've made it through week one of potty training!!! It's hasn't been easy, that's for sure but Jack is making slow progress.

Today has been better than the previous two (still on his first pair of pull-ups for the day!), now if only his bahavior in general would improve........

I will add some pictures soon (after I take care of the 15 pounds of strawberries in my kitchen!)

Day 7 (Sunday)

Yesterday and today were not our best. Yesterday Jack went through 3 pairs of pull-ups yesterday :( Today he's gone through 2. He's having trouble going #2, he keeps saying "I don't know how it works...."

But on the positive side, he did tell me this morning when he had to pee. So that was moving in the right direction.

He is just so stubborn... oh well, can't turn back now. Hopefully we all survive this potty training adventure un-scaythed.

Success - Day 6 (am)

Jackson pooped in the potty this morning. We were so proud of him! And his belly feels SOOOO much better now :)

This morning didn't start so promising. He wet his pull-up overnight, and then because he needed to go #2, he tried on the potty, but couldn't so then peeded again in a new pull-up..... But then I sat him down with a movie and after 30 minutes or so.... success!

Day 5

Friday - Jack did well most of the day. He had a small accident in his pull-up while on a quick shopping trip to Kohl's with daddy. Still working on #2.... he's trying though. Jack got to enjoy some Culver's custard last night as a reward for all his hard work and progress this week :)

Day 4...

Still doing really well.... except for #2

:)

Another Successful Day!

Jack has had another good day using the potty. Once or twice he has even told me he has to go and sat down on his own :)

He especially likes the pull-ups that have the pictures that disappear when they get wet. He always want to check to see if the pictures are still there !

Jack woke up dry the past two mornings ! And woke up from his naps dry ! And we went to the zoo this morning and were gone a little over 2 hours and he stayed dry the whole time ! He went on the potty before we left and as soon as we got home :)

His only issue right now is going #2. He seems a little unsure of what will happen and keeps saying "how I do it?" when he has to go and sits on the potty to try. So hopefully soon he'll do it, and then know that nothing bad will happen....

But overall it's been a really good three days! GO JACK :)

Fun Day Outside!

Yesterday we went down to Grandma & Grandpa's S's. It was too cold to play in the water, but it was sunny most of the day and warm enough to do other activities outside! Jack had a great time even though there was no water - and Chase and Jillian were over, so that made it even better :)

Jack & Jillian play so nice together :) Here they are resting in the sunshine after lunch.

Auntie Megan brought over this cement stepping stone project to work on in the afternoon. Jack had fun helping Jillian decorate one of the stones with lots of shiny beads!

I made a stone with Jayden's foot prints.

Jayden took a tractor ride with daddy - he loved it!

Having fun :)

Grandma's Birthday!

Last Sunday was Grandma Michele's birthday. We went over in the afternoon to celebrate and have dinner. It was a nice day - sunny, but a little cool. At least we could sit outside for a while :)

Jack is always ready to help open presents :)

I think they both like what they found!

Potty Training - Day 2

Today we went down to the pond for a day of outside fun (it was not nearly warm enough to swim) but it was sunny, and the kids were over for Jack to play with - and he had tractors, so it was a great day :)

Jack did wonderful with his potty chair! He used it quite a few times (at my prompting). We had to change his pull-up once mid-afternoon for a little dribble accident, but that was because he had been on a long tractor ride with Chase - I won't hold it against him!

Jack and the Potty!

This morning after peeing through two diapers (and pairs of shorts) I put a pull-up on Jack and refused to let him wear shorts or pants until he peed on the potty. He was not at all into this to start. He sat on the potty, only because I wouldn't give him any pants when I got off.... (and honestly, I couldn't, he's peed on them all and they are all waiting to be washed, and today was not laundry day.... and that boy doesn't like to be without all his clothes on....)

So he sat and cried and moaned for about an hour on the potty chair. Then he sat in his room for a while. Then when I went to put Jayden down for his morning nap around 8:40 I freed Jack from his room and sat him in the kitchen with juice and a snack.

About 10 minutes later Jeff comes down where I am putting Jayden to sleep and says that Jack just peed and emptied the potty into the toilet and flushed it all by himself!!! Whoa :) Go Jack. So we're all happy.

After that I gave Jack some pants and we went to the park for a while to play while Jayden napped. When we got home he sat on the potty, and peed again! And then before lunch, he peed again! And before naptime, he peed again! And after naptime, he peed again! And before dinner, he peed again, twice (once of his own prompting as he was eating already). So we had quite a few good hours.

Unfortunately after dinner he went outside to play, and while outside, pooped and peed in the pull-up.... but I won't hold that against him for now. He's got another pull-up on, and hopefully he can pee in the potty chair another time to two before bed.

This is the best we've ever done on our potty training adventures... let's hope it continues....

Jayden is 11 months old!

Jayden is doing great! He's finally taking his bottles well - most of the time, and drinking 15-20 ounces a day. All my milk from the freezer is just about gone and then we'll switch to formula until the Dr. gives him the clear to switch to whole milk (he needs to get his weight up first). He still eats almost all his meals mixed with yogurt...... and he likes goldfish, ritz crackers, animal crackers, cake & frosting, and ice cream (!!! you should see those two boys attack me when I have a malt in my hands!)

Jayden is walking 3-10 steps at a time when he's in the right mood. He was walking around his little pool really well earlier in the week when it was hot outside. But he still crawls most of the time.

Jayden loves to play with and "talk" to Jack. They can be very silly together :)

He still has 7 teeth, that other bottom one just won't come through.

Don't they look cute in their matching shirts :)
