Back to School...

We have survived the first two days of school/daycare. It's actually been pretty good so far. School is fun and busy, busy, busy.
-----
Jack is having a great time playing with his friends at daycare, and pretty much all Jayden has done is sleep.... but that's a lot better than just crying! Jayden has not yet shown any signs of hunger or wanting the bottle while away, but he is sure hungry when he gets home.

Christmas Tree!

Last night we bought our Christmas tree!
We got it from Stein's this year. They had a good selection and we found one that wasn't too wide or tall, perfect for our living room! It was a cold evening for tree shopping - Jayden didn't enjoy it very much (until he fell asleep), Jack had fun.

All we did last night was put the tree up and put the lights on.
We saved the ornaments for this morning.....

Jack was a pretty good helper with the ornaments.
We didn't put too many on this year, mostly just non-breakable ones and a few nicer ones on top.
I'm sure that within a week the bottom half will be completely empty because of Jack anyways. And I hate putting ornaments away after Christmas, so I tried to keep it simple this year.

The almost finished tree. I just need to add the tree skirt and the angel on top!

Jayden's First Snow Flake!

You can't really see it in the pictures... but on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving we got our very first snow flurries of the season!!! It was coming down a little harder, but Jayden was napping - these pics were as soon as he woke up. I don't think he was too thrilled to be out in the cold.....

Happy Thanksgiving!

We all had a very nice Thanksgiving and hope you did too!
Here are the boys waking up Thanksgiving morning.
Jack was a little slow getting out of bed, so I put Jayden in with him - Jayden loved being by his big brother!
On the way to Grandma & Grandpa Stollenwerk's. We were trying out the car dvd players again... but they weren't working very well. Jack loved it while it lasted, though!
(He's watching Cars)

And Jayden was happy as could be for most of the ride. Which was pretty surprising, since he had just woke up from a nap when I put him right into his car seat. We had to get his snow suit out for the first time - it has been a COLD weekend!

After playing at Grandma & Grandpa's for a little while we headed over to Auntie Megan's mom's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Jack had a great time playing with Chase and Jillian. Here they are playing play-doh in the basement before it was time to eat. For the most part Jack was very well behaved all day.

Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious!

And Jayden was so nice to me, he fell asleep right before it was time to eat and didn't wake up for 45 minutes - when I was all finished with my turkey!
What a good little boy.

Jayden playing with baby Emma, who is 1 1/2 weeks older than him. They liked to look at each other.
-----
After such a fun Thanksgiving, Jack had even more fun - he was spending the night at Grandma & Grandpa's!
-----
And here is Jayden at 4:45am Friday morning all set for shopping with mommy and Grandma!!!! He was very well behaved. I think he really enjoyed the experience (his one and only Black Friday shopping day.......next year he'll be at home with Daddy and Jack!)

the end is near.....

Today is my last day home alone with the boys before heading back to work on Monday. I know I'll still have the afternoons, but it won't be the same (especially since both boys sleep all afternoon!)

We haven't done too much exciting this week so far. Jeff has been gone alot with school meetings and conferences. The boys and I have just hung out at home. We did a little christmas decorating around the house, made christmas cards, and did some baking for thanksgiving.

Tonight we are heading over to G&G B's for dinner and then daddy is home all day tomorrow :)

Jayden loves to play in his bouncer!

Christmas cards "by" the boys!

First Day... sort of....

I went in to school yesterday morning to meet with my sub and try to figure out what I'm suppose to be doing when I go back to work on the 29th. Things are sure different with a lot of new people at school this year, but I'm sure I'll catch on soon enough. That first day will be a little crazy though, I'm sure.

The boys had their first day back at Miss Cathie's. Jack was excited all morning, he couldn't wait to go play with "the boys". Jayden just had no idea what was coming....

But they did well. Jack had fun playing with Tore, who is a year or so older than him. They played cars and trains, and Jack ate all his lunch nicely.

Jayden I knew was getting sleepy when I dropped him off. He started crying a little before 9am, but didn't want his nuk or bottle, so Miss Cathie put him down in the crib and said he cried for about 5 minutes and then fell asleep, and he slept for almost 3 hours!!! (So needless to say, he was pretty easy to take care of for the morning) When he woke up he didn't want the bottle, but wasn't upset, so he just played on the floor until I picked them up a little after 12pm.

When we got home neither boys were ready for naps :( Jack played for a little while and then said he was tired, but he wouldn't fall asleep. Jayden just kept snuggling with me and laughing at me. I think he missed me..... He ate and then played, and then ate some more. Eventually Jack fell asleep. But Jayden didn't until we were out doing errands before dinner.

At least I get one more week home with my boys, and we'll all adjust soon enough to being apart in the mornings. But I sure had fun with them at home this fall!!!!

Jayden is 4 months old!

Jayden at 4 months...
He loves his rice cereal at breakfast and dinner. He laughs and coos a lot. He likes to be tickled! He can roll over both directions, but usually goes from his tummy to his back and then gets stuck! He sleeps 8-9 hours at night, then eats, and sleeps for another 2 -3 hours. (Daylight Savings really had him messed up for a few nights, but he seems to be back on track now, thankfully!) He takes two good naps during the day. Jayden loves to put things in his mouth, especially his fingers. He loves to watch Jack and he smiles all the time!

to the Doctor!

Jayden had his 4 month doctor appointment this morning and Jack was getting a flu shot at the same time.
-----
This trip did not go as well as last time, when I took both boys to Jayden's two month appointment.
-----
It started well enough, but then the doctor was late and Jack had had about enough of sitting in the chair looking at books, and he had finished his m&ms..... so then he took to running down the hallway. I think he was trying to get to the waiting room, but he kept heading the wrong direction!!!!!!! Those doors should have child safety locks on them.
-----
Jayden's check-up went great.
He was very well behaved, didn't cry at all, and didn't pee or poop on anyone!
-----
Jayden's stats:
weight - 13 lb 3.5 oz (19%)
height - 25.5 in (74%)
-----
He got two shots and one oral vaccine. He cried but stopped pretty soon after, poor little guy :(
Jack also got two shots............. it was not pretty! I had to hold him down on the table and grip his arms really tight and then when the needle went in - it was a much different cry than the kind we usually get at home on a regular basis - this was a pain cry :( Afterwards he cuddled on the chair with his blankie while Jayden got his shots.
-----
Then the whole way out of the clinic Jack was crying "I want to go doctor, I want boat ride...." I have no idea why. Why he wanted to go to the doctor, or where the boat ride thought came about.................. but after I wrestled him out of the car at home and fought him to get into the house, he settled down pretty fast and had a fine rest of the morning playing with me outside while Jayden napped.
-----
Jack has to go back in one month for another flu shot (he needs two because he didn't get the H1N1 vaccine last year). Jayden doesn't have to go back until his 6 month appointment.

Christmas Picture take 1, and take 2, and take 3....

This week I have been attempting to take our Christmas picture.... and it hasn't been easy!
-----
Jayden is working with me as well as can be expected.... while Jack is just difficult most of the time :( Who knew asking a kid to "smile" could bring about such a negative reaction ???
-----
Here are a few of the shots I got yesterday and today.
I think I have the final card just about decided on.
(none of these pictures made the final cut)

Beautiful November Weather!

The past two days have been beautiful!
Jack has LOVED being able to play outside more in the mornings while Jayden is napping.

We had lots of fun outside this morning.
And after Jayden woke up and we all had eaten lunch we went back outside and took a nice walk around the block to see a digger and dump truck picking up leaves!
It was very exciting :)

Mom's Quilts!

About two weeks ago I started working on Jayden's baby clothes quilt... I am almost done.
I just need to finish sewing the corners when I get a working sewing maching back.
I think it turned out really nice!

And here's Jack's as it hangs in my computer room.

And Jonathan's.

Once Jayden's is finished I am going to hang Jack's and Jayden's in their bedroom over the beds!

Just Hangin' Out!

Not too much exciting happened this past week... We just hung out at home!
Here is Jayden practicing his push-ups! He is getting soooo strong.

This was Jayden watching me make dinner on Saturday night -
he was very excited because he heard there were cookies for dessert!
(And he loved his new rings to play with!)
Playing on the floor before bedtime....
Jayden wasn't banished to the corner by himself - he was playing with me!
