Jayden is 3 months old!

Jayden is doing great! He is a fantastic baby!

He is getting bigger and stronger everyday. He hasn’t rolled over yet, and can’t sit on his own yet. He will sit in the bumbo chair, but only for a minute or two and he has to be in the right mood.

Jayden laughs and smiles all the time. He likes to be tickled and he loves to watch Jack! He likes a little brown bear stuffed animal, and a little blankie he just got as a gift. He likes to hold them and suck on the corners.

He likes to sit in his swing and watch things. He loves to hear songs! When he’s really excited and happy he moves his arms and legs all around!

Jayden’s routine hasn’t changed much the past month.

I feed him around 4:15am, he’s probably sleep a little longer than that, but that’s when I’m ready to feed. And then he goes back to bed until I wake him up at 6:30am. Then I get him changed and dressed and we play for a few minutes before he eats at about 7am. Then we read books and play with Jack until 8:15 when I change him and feed him and put him down for a nap in his crib from 8:30 – 10:30am. Then he eats again and plays while Jack eats. We usually head outside for an hour or so on nice days (all days are nice – it’s been a dry, sunny, warm fall!) Then at 12:10 we come in, change diapers, put Jack down for his nap. Then I feed Jayden downstairs and put him down for a nap in the pack-n-play. He usually sleep from 12:30 until I wake him up a few minutes after 3pm. Then he eats again around 3:30. We play with Jack and make dinner. Then he plays with daddy and Jack while I am downstairs. Then he eats again around 5:45. Then we play, read, and every few days have bath night! He plays with daddy while Jack is going to bed at 7:30 and usually eats around 7:45 and is in bed a little after 8pm.

We've been working on bottle feeding. I've tried a few times but he will have none of it!!! I'll have to start doing that more over the next few weeks.....

Happy Birthday Auntie Katie!

On Sunday afternoon we went over to B's for Katie's birthday dinner.

I took the boys over around 11:30 so they could take their naps, and since the Packer game was at noon, Jeff would just come over afterwards.

Things didn't quite go as planned though.... Jayden went down for his nap great, and slept for 3 hours! Jack however thought there were much more important things to do than nap... so he didn't :(

So instead of a nice quiet, relaxing afternoon sitting outside on a HOT sunny October afternoon, I played with Jack - inside, outside, and all around. It was exhausting! He was pretty well behaved for the most part, a little wild, but that's not too unusual for him - especially around all the dogs!

Jack and I raked leaves (or tried to - but it was a little too hot!), played catch with the football, rode his little bike around the driveway, played in the clubhouse, with the puppies..... we were all over the place!

After Grandma & Grandpa got home from doing a few errands, Jack played outside with Grandma for a while. They played in the clubhouse and played catch on the driveway.

After playing outside for a while, Jack was really dirty, so Grandma and I gave him a bath in the big tub!

Then we headed over to Uncle Hayden's room to check out his guitar. Jack had fun making some "music" on it.

Then Jack played trains with Auntie Katie. It's so cute how he says "Auntie Katie". He wanted to play with her all the time!

Jack and Auntie Katie played game boy too...

And after a delicious dinner, Jack helped Auntie Katie blow out her birthday candles!

It was a busy, hot sunday!

Al's Run & Walk 2010

The Walk this year was great! The weather was really nice, only a little warmer than expected (which is why I am wearing pants!) No one got lost and everybody walked and ate well!

The boys and I right before we left home a little after 7am to meet up with some of our group at B's. Our walking shoes are all set :)

We left the Falls a little before 8am, our first stop was to drop of me, Jayden, Grandma and both strollers odd at Marquette so we didn't have to ride the shuttle bus from the parking lots at Summerfest with all that stuff.
The guys and Katie then drove to the lots, met up with Greg, Megan & the kids and rode the school bus over together. Jack talked about that bus ride all evening! (It was his first time on a big school bus)
------
While we waited, Grandma, Jayden and I walked around a bit, saw the racing sausages, and I fed Jayden. (we tried the bottle, but he was having none of that..... we'll be working on that a little harder now....)
------
I also turned in my pledges and got my new fleece jacket. I love it! I look forward to a new one every year - they are always so nice. And this year didn't disappoint.

Jayden & I with the Italian.

When the rest of our group arrived, Jack was in a bit of a "mood" and kept saying he wanted to go home.... I think the large crowds got to him a bit and he was out of sorts. I tried giving him some juice, raisins and apple sauce from the snack tent - he ate everything, but that did little to improve his mood. :(

The Marquette band playing and some more sausages.
------
I wanted to get Jack pic taken with one, but he was too shy. And I wanted to get Jack's face painted, but the line was too long (he may not have sat for it anyways....) Maybe next year.

Our cousin Jack ("big Jack") - he was our runner this year! He finished in about 38 minutes. Along with Hayden.

Maybe I'll run next year..... maybe.

The kids.

Katie and some of her friends from work joined our team this year!

This year shirt design.
(design compliments of Katie once again! As modeled by Hayden)

This is Mom getting a basketball autographed by Buzz - something or other.... the MU basketball coach, I can't remember his last name.
All the kids got basketballs, and the players were there signing them. And the coach was giving out bracelets that said "Buzz's Bunch".
------
Jack wasn't too excited about his ball at the time I was walking him around to get it signed, but he thought it was pretty cool when we got home and daddy put air in for him.

And the walk starts.
------
Since Jack was still in his "mood" he only wanted me to push him in the umbrella stroller, so I had Jack with Jeff. We ended up walking with Greg, Megan and the kids. G&G B had Jayden, Katie was with her friends, and I'm not sure who Hayden was with, and Big Jack was off running ahead of all of us!

Here's Jeff and I with Jack, Greg, Megan and the kids.

And then we finished! It was a very nice walk. We did the three mile. Once we got away from the tall buildings there was a nice breeze, so we cooled off a bit, which was nice :)

Grandma & Grandpa ended up behind everyone, even though I thought they were ahead of us. But we all met up at the end and I got Jayden back! He ended up having to be carried for most of the walk because he woke up crying soon after it started.

Then it was lunch time! I brought all kinds of stuff to make sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, Mom brought taco dip and chips, Megan brought delicious desserts.... it was quite a feast!

As lunch was winding down I found the Jayden's diaper had started to leak. But at least it was only #1 so I changed him up, put on some new clothes
(which I was sure to pack after what happened at his baptism!)
------
And not long after that child was all clean.... I walked over to see how Jack was doing with the cookie he was eating, and what should I find but some strange looking brown watery splotches on his shirt and pants......... at first I thought something spilled, like a dark soda or something - but no, it was poop!!! So he had to be changed too into a new diaper and all new clothes (which I had all set!)
------
I WILL NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT EXTRA CLOTHES AGAIN!

And if that wasn't enough excitement. When we first got back to the cars and were setting up lunch, Katie found that she had left her lights on and her car was dead :(
------
So after all the food was cleaned up and most people had left, she had to have her car jumped. Luckily one of her friends who was along had jumper cables (none of the rest of us did).
It took a little bit of time, but they got the car started. Jack loved watching what was going on and trying to climb around in both cars.
------
Even with the diaper messes and the dead car, they day went smoothly and was lots of fun.
------
THANKS to everyone who walked with us and who donated money this year...
We raised $530.00, which surpassed my goal substantially!
Our total for the past 4 years is very close to $3000!

My Jonathan. I love you.

The past week......

The boys and I had a good week! The weather was beautiful, Jack was well bahaved, and we are almost all over our colds :)
Last week Friday afternoon I made this apple crisp - it was one of the most amazing things I even baked (Barefoot Contessa recipe). It was DELICIOUS!!!
Jayden loves this little teddy bear Jack and I found in the basement a few weeks ago. He gives it hugs and kisses and cuddles it. Of course, now that Jayden loves it, Jack things that it should be his and he tried to take it to bed with him all the time.......

Jack took this picture of Jayden and I, he really likes to try and use the camera and every once in a while gets something recognizeable and not blurry.

Jack got to wear his new jammies on a cold night earlier this week. He picked them out for himself at Kohls - they are puppies (of course!) I'm sure they keep him snuggly and warm all night.

On Wednesday Jack and I cleaned up the exersaucer together and then I put Jayden in it for the first time. He liked it for a couple minutes, and then had enough. Soon enough though - I think he'll love it!!!

On Tuesday we started potty taining again......... and on Wednesday night Jack actually peed in his potty chair!!! (he hasn't done it again since though) But he is getting better at sitting down for a few minutes when I ask him to (most of the time) and trying. So that's moving in the right direction.

And of course we had lots of play time in the leaves this week! By Wednesday afternoon they were really falling down in the front so we've been able to make some bigger piles to jump it :)

More Leaves!

Jack and I play in the leaves everyday!
I can't wait until our big tree in the back starts fall so we can make really big piles. Right now the pickings are a little slim, and only in the front yard..... but Jack still has fun.
He shoveled his pile into his wagon the other day so he could keep the leaves from blowing away and play with them again tomorrow (and he did!!!)

This afternoon after lunch we took Jayden out to see the leaves for a little while.
It was kind of hard to get a picture, since Jack can't really be trusted to hold his brother safely for more than a second or two... but I managed this one right before Jack threw leaves in Jayden's face....
Jayden was pretty indifferent to the leaves, even the ones in his face didn't phase him too much.

Jayden's First Cold :(

On Tuesday Jack came down with a cold.... and on Tuesday night Jayden woke up all stuffed up :( (and me on Wednesday....)
He's still been pretty happy most of the time, only maybe sleeping a little longer during the day.
Hopefully the colds will all be gone soon.
Jayden's runny nose... but he's still smiling!!!

Jayden :)

Jayden napping and sucking on his thumb

Big grins & a new digger shirt (Jack loved it!)

Jack and Jayden Playing Together!

The other day I brought up the bumbo chair for Jayden to try out. He's done pretty well in for short periods of time.

Jack being silly for the camera (whereas Jayden's head just fell over) - but they kind of look like they did those poses on purpose!

Jack teaching Jayden how to cook... Jayden gets to hold the "tiny spatula" because he's "tiny" (as Jack says).

Jack has been much better around Jayden the past week or two :)
