The Walk this year was great! The weather was really nice, only a little warmer than expected (which is why I am wearing pants!) No one got lost and everybody walked and ate well!
The boys and I right before we left home a little after 7am to meet up with some of our group at B's. Our walking shoes are all set :)
We left the Falls a little before 8am, our first stop was to drop of me, Jayden, Grandma and both strollers odd at Marquette so we didn't have to ride the shuttle bus from the parking lots at Summerfest with all that stuff.

The guys and Katie then drove to the lots, met up with Greg, Megan & the kids and rode the school bus over together. Jack talked about that bus ride all evening! (It was his first time on a big school bus)

While we waited, Grandma, Jayden and I walked around a bit, saw the racing sausages, and I fed Jayden. (we tried the bottle, but he was having none of that..... we'll be working on that a little harder now....)

I also turned in my pledges and got my new fleece jacket. I love it! I look forward to a new one every year - they are always so nice. And this year didn't disappoint.
When the rest of our group arrived, Jack was in a bit of a "mood" and kept saying he wanted to go home.... I think the large crowds got to him a bit and he was out of sorts. I tried giving him some juice, raisins and apple sauce from the snack tent - he ate everything, but that did little to improve his mood. :(
The Marquette band playing and some more sausages.

I wanted to get Jack pic taken with one, but he was too shy. And I wanted to get Jack's face painted, but the line was too long (he may not have sat for it anyways....) Maybe next year.
Our cousin Jack ("big Jack") - he was our runner this year! He finished in about 38 minutes. Along with Hayden.
Maybe I'll run next year..... maybe.

This is Mom getting a basketball autographed by Buzz - something or other.... the MU basketball coach, I can't remember his last name.
All the kids got basketballs, and the players were there signing them. And the coach was giving out bracelets that said "Buzz's Bunch".
------
Jack wasn't too excited about his ball at the time I was walking him around to get it signed, but he thought it was pretty cool when we got home and daddy put air in for him.
------
Since Jack was still in his "mood" he only wanted me to push him in the umbrella stroller, so I had Jack with Jeff. We ended up walking with Greg, Megan and the kids. G&G B had Jayden, Katie was with her friends, and I'm not sure who Hayden was with, and Big Jack was off running ahead of all of us!
Here's Jeff and I with Jack, Greg, Megan and the kids.
And then we finished! It was a very nice walk. We did the three mile. Once we got away from the tall buildings there was a nice breeze, so we cooled off a bit, which was nice :)
Grandma & Grandpa ended up behind everyone, even though I thought they were ahead of us. But we all met up at the end and I got Jayden back! He ended up having to be carried for most of the walk because he woke up crying soon after it started.
And if that wasn't enough excitement. When we first got back to the cars and were setting up lunch, Katie found that she had left her lights on and her car was dead :(
Then it was lunch time! I brought all kinds of stuff to make sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, Mom brought taco dip and chips, Megan brought delicious desserts.... it was quite a feast!
As lunch was winding down I found the Jayden's diaper had started to leak. But at least it was only #1 so I changed him up, put on some new clothes
(which I was sure to pack after what happened at his baptism!)
------
And not long after that child was all clean.... I walked over to see how Jack was doing with the cookie he was eating, and what should I find but some strange looking brown watery splotches on his shirt and pants......... at first I thought something spilled, like a dark soda or something - but no, it was poop!!! So he had to be changed too into a new diaper and all new clothes (which I had all set!)
------
I WILL NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT EXTRA CLOTHES AGAIN!
And if that wasn't enough excitement. When we first got back to the cars and were setting up lunch, Katie found that she had left her lights on and her car was dead :(
------
So after all the food was cleaned up and most people had left, she had to have her car jumped. Luckily one of her friends who was along had jumper cables (none of the rest of us did).
It took a little bit of time, but they got the car started. Jack loved watching what was going on and trying to climb around in both cars.
------
Even with the diaper messes and the dead car, they day went smoothly and was lots of fun.
------
THANKS to everyone who walked with us and who donated money this year...
We raised $530.00, which surpassed my goal substantially!
Our total for the past 4 years is very close to $3000!
