Last night after dinner we made cut-out Valentine sugar cookies. We made different heart shapes/sizes and a big J and little J (per Jack's request).
I mixed up the dough before dinner so it would be all ready to roll out. The boys liked playing with the rolling pins, but I did the actual rolling.
Jack did almost all the "cookie cutting". I showed him where to put each shape and he pressed it down. He did a great job and had lots of fun!
Jayden had lots of fun touching and grabbing at everything he could find, and climbing on the table :(

Here we are making the big & little J's :)
Daddy helped too! He manned the oven most of the time :)
Jack liked getting his hands on the dough and rolling up the extra.
and Jayden........ here he is scratching my table with a rolling pin. Someday he will fall off the table, and will he learn then????? I doubt it.
All our cookies fresh from the oven. I let them cool and then boxed them up to be frosted and decorated in the morning. It would have been way too much to do it all in one night.
While I cleaned up Jack was playing "cookies" in the living room. He was showing Jayden how to lay all the cookies (his cutters) out on the tray (the footstool) so they could bake. They are so cute :)
This morning I mixed up some pink powdered sugar icing. I spread it on and then Jack did the sprinkles. He started a little unsure of himself so there were only a few sprinkles on each cookie, but my the end the entire cookie was bright pink and completely covered! (We used the whole bottle of pink sprinkles!) Jack was an excellent helper :) And our Valentine Cookies are YUMMY!
