Jayden Trick or Treats at the Zoo!

Yesterday Jeff & I took Jayden to "Boo at the Zoo" trick or treating as something special to do while Jack was away at the B'Haven Lodge.  We were at the zoo for about 2 hours and then headed down to the pond to play for a while before Jayden stayed with Grandma & Grandpa while Jeff & I went out to dinner at Red Robin in Kenosha.  It was a fun, busy, cool fall day!

 Jayden was not too into walking on this trip - he wanted me to carry him a lot.  I think he was a little lost without Jack around.  

 Checking out the lion cubs outside.  We also saw one of the big ones and the cheetah and other "big cats" inside the building - that was Jayden's favorite part.  He was roaring like a lion and waving and talking to them.

 Our last stop was a carousel ride.  Jayden was only mildly amused.....

The weather was good and we got a nice walk out of it - but I don't think we'll made trick or treat at the zoo a yearly tradition.  Jayden got hardly any candy (just a few very small pieces) and we really didn't see many animals.

Downtown Trick or Treat!

On Thursday night we went to Menomonee Falls' Downtown Trick or Treat!  It has started to rain a little bit right around 4pm when we were getting ready to leave the house - but we were going out anyways!

 Jayden wouldn't put on the puppy costume, but rather than stay home he decided to be a bug at the last minute instead.  Jack choose a firefighter - again :)

 Soon after we started walking around (after driving around for 15 minutes to park) it poured on us for a few minutes!  Luckily I had my umbrella and we managed to stay mostly dry.  After that we were good for the rest of the evening (it did pour again soon after we got home at 6:30)

 We had to stop by to check out our 2nd place winning scarecrow!!!!!!  Jack was so proud.

 Jack showing off his goods.  We made it to almost every stop along the route except for a few that were way out on the ends.  Jack walked the whole time on his own and did great.  Jayden I carried at time, but he did a good amount of walking too.  It was very busy (lots of cars & people around) but we had tons of fun and the boys got lots of nice candy!

The next day - dump it all out to find that perfect piece...  :)

Jack's Class!

I went to help out in Jack's class today!  It was lots and lots of fun :)

Outside the room was this interview Jack did with his 4th grade buddy in Mrs. Yokers' class.

 And here is Jack working on an owl project that I helped the kids do.  

He made a great owl :)

More Fall Crafts!

On Sunday morning the boys & I made these toilet paper roll turkey hands and some pinecone turkeys!  

And this morning while Jack was at school, Jayden & I made this spooky Halloween ghost scene...  he loved it!!

Our house is really decorated now!!!  (For Halloween & Thanksgiving)

Walking to School!

I have off school the rest of this week and Jack was so excited because that meant I could walk him to school (and pick him up!)  But unfortunately, this morning was the worst morning weather of the school year so far :(  

Drizzly and foggy, luckily not too cold though.  I offered to drive him, but he said no.  Jack wanted to walk with the umbrella - so we did!

Tomorrow I am going to school with Jack all morning and Jayden is going to daycare - we are both excited about that :)

Fall Day at the Pond!

 Jack & I made some handprint spiders to add to our "fall art wall".  spoooooooky... !!!!

 On Thursday night we bought a handwriting app for Jeff's tablet for Jack to practice writing on.  I helped him with it on Thursday evening and Friday afternoon.  It's challenging, but he's starting to get the hang of it.  (Mrs. Skalla said he needs to practice!)

 And Friday night the boys & I made Halloween Cupcakes.  Jack helped me mix them up while Jayden played with water in the sink.....  then after the long, torturous, agonizing wait (20 minutes in the oven, about 15 to cool in the fridge) we frosted and sprinkled them.  It was a bit of a messy disaster - boys + frosting....(Jayden didn't start with his shirt off)  but they look pretty good and are tasty.

 Thursday was a cold rainy morning - Jack insisted on wearing his new winter coat because he said his teacher told him he need to wear it....  so then Jayden wanted his on to.  It probably wasn't cold enough to warrant this level of protection, but oh well, didn't hurt them!

 we made GHOSTS!!!!!   the boys LOVE to glue :)
